The practice was originally founded in 1929 by Dr Norris Pick. The practice moved into one of the first purpose built surgeries in 1999, still serving the Barnsley Town centre and surrounding areas. Recent developments have been a chemist on site which will provide a delivery service to the housebound. We have 12 clinical staff which includes: 7 GP's 5 female and 2 male. 2 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA, 2 Phlebotomists. Patients can access the surgery via the internet to make and cancel appointments, and order their medication. Our clinical staff provide chronic disease monitoring clinics along side well person checks, a weekly minor operations clinic, coil fit and Implanon clinics, cytology clinics, Methotrexate and Warfarin clinics. Weightwise Barnsley currently has 2 weekly sessions running 'in house'.
