Hill Brow Practice

Hill Brow Surgery was established in the 1920s; looking after patients in Staincross and surrounding areas. The Practice now has seven GPs (3 female) and a full Nursing Team. As a training practice Hill Brow normally has two GP Registrars working with us, as well as medical students and student nurses. Hill Brow offers a full range of Primary Care Services, including all Chronic Disease Management; full contraceptive services including Nexplanon fittings; Zoladex injections; Warfarin monitoring and shared care substance misuse. Along with its sister practices (HBP Lundwood and Highgate) the Hill Brow Partnership now provides primary care to patients living across the North Barnsley area – from Cawthorne to Great Houghton.

HBP Lundwood

Established in 2009, under the Equitable Access Scheme, this Practice has already gained a reputation for excellence and has registered over 2000 new patients from the Lundwood and surrounding areas. There are now five GPs regularly working at the Practice (3 female) and the newest recruit is Dr Mark Ashton; who joined the Practice on 3rd May 2011. The Practice also has a full complement of qualified and experienced nurses. HBP Lundwood provides the full range of Primary Care Services and plans to become a Training Practice in June/ July 2011. In 2012 the Practice will be moving into bigger premises in the prestigious new extension being built at Priory Campus. This is an exciting move which will allow the Practice to continue to grow and meets the needs of the local population.

Highgate Surgery - Shafton & Grimethorpe

Established in late 2009, under the Equitable Access Scheme, this Practice has already gained a reputation for excellence and has registered over 1000 new patients from Shafton, Royton, Grimethorpe and surrounding areas. There are now four GPs regularly working at the Practice (2 female) and the newest recruit is Dr Mark Ashton; who joined the Practice on 3rd May 2011. The Practice also has a full complement of qualified and experienced nurses. Highgate Surgery provides the full range of Primary Care Services in both its Surgery premises; in Grimethorpe and Shafton.
